LUXURY CONSUMER STARTUP

Bkr is a luxury glass water bottle company specializing in the sensory experience and trending colors of fashion. One thing that sets them apart, is that glass is so much tastier to drink from than metal or plastic bottles. The name bkr (pronounced: beaker), is a nod to the traditional chemistry lab beaker, as it is also made of glass.

 

OVERVIEW
Bkr was looking for a Junior Graphic designer who was willing to learn, or already have experience in a large array of skills including illustration, simple animation, typography, photo retouching, video editing, web design, and the major ability of creating digital assets in a tight timeline.

MY ROLE
Upon joining the company in 2022, my passion for the brand was already a huge plus, as I was able to help make business decsions for product development. I quickly learned how to create animations or gifs used in email and social media assets. I took every new project as an opportunity to push myself to merge design and animation. About one quarter in, we realized there was a huge necessity for the creation and proper execution of video assets. In response, I taught myself Adobe Premiere on the job. It has been two years since I began processing video assets and there has been a huge improvement in our advertising. I have designed and rolled out landing pages integrated in the company's ecommerce website for special launches or big campaigns. I even participated as an assistant and makeup artist during the Holiday 2023 campaign photo shoot. Now I hand model and shoot photography when needed.

BRAND EXPERIENCE
I have designed 7 sticker sheets, made over 20 limited edition designs to be printed and sold, shot and retouched an entire campaign from start to finish, created two year's worth of video ad content, picked up many new skills and have grown so much in just two years. I am so proud of how much I have been able to contribute.
